Kelsey Sykes is a florist & gardener based in Richmond, VA.
Sykes began growing flowers as a means to an end: material for her floral practice. Soon realizing she was as deeply drawn to the canvas of a garden as she had been years prior to a vase, Sykes devoted herself to discovering & learning all things flora.
In Spring 2017, after several years working as a florist in Virginia, Sykes ventured to NYC to work for famed floral studio Fox Fodder Farm. In the fall of the following year she left on a months-long exploration of the gardens of Oaxaca, Mexico & in & around Oxford, England, where she found endless inspiration.
In Spring 2019 Sykes embarked on a 7-month cut-flower-growing intensive through a live/work program with Wollam Gardens, an 11+ acre flower farm surrounded by wild meadows in the foothills of the Shenandoah Valley. There she found lifelong mentors & friends & fell in love with the landscapes of Virginia all over again.
In 2020 Sykes returned to Richmond, VA where she headquartered Old Time Feeling, a practice that has blossomed from floral services into a many layered botanic design studio.
